WHEREAS, the Town has issued a request for proposals (the “RFP”) for state and federal lobbying and grant advocacy services (the “Services”); and
WHEREAS, until an award is made pursuant to the RFP, the Town remains in need of the Services; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to an agreement, as amended, with the Town, Sustainable Strategies DC, 500 New Jersey Avenue, NW, Suite 600, Washington, DC 20001 (the “Consultant”) has been providing state and federal lobbying and grant advocacy services to the Town (the “Agreement”); and
WHEREAS, the Agreement expired on December 31, 2023; and
WHEREAS, it has been requested that the Town be authorized to execute an amendment to the Agreement to extend the term of the Agreement for a period commencing retroactively on January 1, 2024 and ending at such time as a contract is executed with a consultant pursuant to the RFP (the “Amendment”); and
WHEREAS, this Board finds it to be in the best interest of the Town to authorize the Amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED that the Amendment be and is hereby authorized; and be it further
RESOLVED that the Supervisor or her designee is authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the Town, the Amendment, which will be on file in the Office of the Town Clerk, and to take such other action as may be necessary to effectuate the foregoing; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Office of the Town Attorney be and hereby is authorized and directed to negotiate and supervise the execution of the Amendment; and be it further
RESOLVED that the Comptroller be and hereby is authorized and directed to pay the costs of the Services upon receipt of a duly executed Amendment and certified claims therefor.
