Supervisor DeSena offered the following resolution and moved its adoption, which resolution was declared adopted after a poll of the members of this Board:

RESOLUTION NO. 261 - 2024

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE TOWN EMPLOYEE WORKPLACE VIOLENCE PREVENTION POLICY PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, the Town Board (the “Board”) of the Town of North Hempstead (the “Town”) has heretofore authorized the adoption of a workplace violence prevention policy (the “Policy”); and

WHEREAS, Board has heretofore authorized amendments to the Policy; and 

WHEREAS, the Board wishes to further amend the Policy to replace references to Levels 1, 2 and 3 with the definition of Workplace Violence contained in the New York State Department of Labor regulations for public employers in accordance with the proposed amendments set forth in the amended Policy, a copy of which is annexed hereto as Schedule A (the “Amended Policy”); and  

WHEREAS, the Board finds it to be in the best interests of the Town to authorize the Amended Policy.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

RESOLVED that the Board hereby authorizes the Amended Policy; and be it further 

RESOLVED that copies of the Amended Policy shall be on file in the Office of the Town Attorney.
