WHEREAS, the Town Board (the “Board”) of the Town of North Hempstead (the “Town”) wishes to remove abandoned boat debris on the floor of Motts Cove in Hempstead Harbor (the “Project”); and
WHEREAS, funding for the removal of the boats is available through the Nassau County Soil and Water Conservation District (the “District”); and
WHEREAS, the Town’s Grant Coordinator (the “Coordinator”) has recommended that the Town submit an application to the District for funding in the amount of Eight Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($8,000.00) for removal of the debris, with the Town covering the cost of disposal as the match to the grant (“the “Application”); and
WHEREAS, this Board wishes to authorize the preparation and submission of the Application for the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED that the Board hereby authorizes the Grant Coordinator to prepare and submit the Application; and be it further
RESOLVED that the Board hereby authorizes the Supervisor and/or her designee to execute any and all contracts, project agreements and other instruments or documents required in connection with the awarding and receipt of the funding (“Contract Documents”), file the Contract Documents in the Office of the Town Clerk, submit Project documentation and take such other action as may be reasonably required to undertake and complete the Project and receive the funding; and be it further
RESOLVED that the Office of the Town Attorney be and hereby is authorized and directed to negotiate and supervise the execution of the Contract Documents in connection with the Project.
