WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation (the “Department”) desires to (1) permit the Long Island Nets and Verizon to host a community event at the Yes We Can Community Center on August 18, 2018; and (2) permit the Long Island Nets to run three (3) mini elite basketball camps the North Hempstead “Yes We Can” Community Center (the “Center”) on June 9, June 10, July 21, July 22, September 22, and September 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 .p.m. at a cost of One Hundred and 00/100 Dollars ($100.00) per student (the “Events”); and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Department has recommended that the Town enter into an agreement with the Long Island Nets (the “Contractor”) to conduct the Events in consideration of payment by the Town of Seventy Percent (70%) of the fees collected for the Events (the “Agreement”); and
WHEREAS, this Board finds it to be in the best interests of the Town to authorize the Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED that the Agreement be and is hereby authorized; and be it further
RESOLVED that the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Agreement on behalf of the Town, which Agreement shall be on file with the Office of the Town Clerk, and to take such other action as may be necessary to effectuate the foregoing; and be it further
RESOLVED that the Office of the Town Attorney be and hereby is authorized and directed to negotiate and oversee the execution of the Agreement, and to take such other action as may be necessary to effectuate the foregoing; and be it further
RESOLVED that the Comptroller be and hereby is authorized and directed to pay the costs of the Services upon receipt of the duly executed Agreement and certified claims therefore.
